On July 11, 2018, in Hanoi, the Vietnam – Canada Friendship Association launches a logo design contest. The logo contest is to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada. Representative of the MCA Brand, Mr. Ho Tu Anh, attended the contest.

Diplomatic relations between Canada and Vietnam were established on August 21, 1973. August 21, 2018 is the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The logo design contest is one of the anniversary events. The event marked a positive development in relations between the two countries. This event also welcomed the fourth congress (2019-2024) of the Vietnam – Canada Friendship Association.
The contest attracted interest and participation from a variety of different people. Those who love peace, love the country and the Canadians. The winning logo would be used for the celebration activities. The logo also contributes to promoting and informing Vietnamese citizens and international friends about the Association and its activities.
Contest work of MCA Brand
A group of authors representing MCA Brand participated in the contest. The logo was designed based on the achievements of two countries with a bright future. Mr. Ho Tu Anh combines the image of the maple leaf and the five golden stars as highlights. With a strong, clear pattern, facing upwards like a flower in bloom. Moreover, it seems like millions of hands are waving a bright future in the vibe of peace, growth and stability.
The number 45 is seamlessly connected with the maple leaf symbol shown above. The overall logo is unified, the lines and layout are stable, creating a strong visual impression. It really fits the spirit of the event.
First prize in the logo design contest to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Vietnam.
On October 30, 2018, the ceremony to announce the results and award the contest prizes was held 3 months after the launch. The contest received 126 submissions from provinces in Vietnam and Canada. The works participating in the contest are diverse in form, content and layout. The uniformity in quality reflects the author’s enthusiasm and investment. We can see the author’s affection for Canada and the relationship between the two countries.
The group of authors including Mr. Ho Tu Anh won the first prize in the logo design contest. In September 2018, the logo was introduced to international friends by the Association in Ottawa, Canada.
